Last week we took a trip up north to the Hunter Valley with my parents, it was a wonderful trip filled with good food, fantastic wine and good company. Like many other wine regions the Hunter Valley is a very picturesque place, below are a few of the shots taken on this trip.
This shot was taken at the Audrey Wilkinson vineyard, a stunning outlook from their entry
Enjoying some fine wine with my parents
Most vineyards have beautiful rose bushes at the end of each row, this is done for pest control (Aphids will go for the roses before the grape vines) but to me they were just wonderful camera fodder
A wonderful Australian vineyard with the gum trees amongst the vines
One of the vineyards we stopped at had a variety of sculptures near their cellar door, complete with boxing kangaroos and giant shoes.....
Jaime amongst the vines.
Sitting on the balcony at the end fo the day there were these beautiful birds sitting on the house across the road, I really liked the way this silhouette against the sunset turned out.
These are the vines at the Tamberlaine vineyard, they are an organic grower, its interesting to see the contrast of the grass among the vines to the dirt at the conventional vineyard above.
I was amazed at the small buds that will become huge bunches of grapes in the coming months.
One of the best parts of taking the tour at Tamberlaine was tasting their latest wines straight from the vats, definitely a great way to do it.
